Theodore Brentano (1854 - 1940) was a lawyer and an Illinois state judge. In 1922 he was appointed as the first American ambassador to Hungary by President Warren G. Harding. Brentano sent Clarence Darrow a Christmas and New Year's greeting in December 1924 on the stationary of the American Legation Budapest.
