William Jennings Bryan used Price's work to refute the theory of evolution. Bryan asked Price to appear as an expert witness for the prosecution in the Scopes trial, but Price was lecturing in England and could not attend. Price's work would gain a considerable following among fundamentalists some years after the Scopes trial.
