Julius Rosenwald

Julius Rosenwald (1862 - 1932) was President of Sears, Roebuck and Company and a noted philanthropist. A meeting with Booker T. Washington led to the Rosenwald School Building Program to aid poor blacks build schools in the South. This led to the creation in 1917 of the Rosenwald Fund an important charity.
